Sharpen your editing skills with Matrox/Adobe

Whether you're a budding video editing enthusiast or just want to improve your skills, the Matrox/Adobe DV Academy can help you.
The Academy offers two courses – Intro to DV Editing and DV Masterclass – which both offer hands-on training with the Matrox RT2500 and Adobe Premiere video editing and DVD authoring platform.
The Intro to DV Editing course is a half-day (morning or afternoon) course, which offers the perfect introduction to the basics of video editing. A qualified instructor will take students through the stages, from the capture process of getting footage into the PC to outputting the video to tape, the web or DVD. Students will also be able to see he full functionality of what a realtime video editing card like the RT2500 can deliver.
This course is ideal for those looking to get started in video editing and DVD authoring. Applicants do not require previous knowledge but will need to have basic PC skills. This half-day course is free, but spaces are limited, so early registration is advised.
The DV Masterclass is designed to give students a deeper understanding and familiarity with the inner workings of the Matrox RT2500 realtime video editing platform and Adobe Premiere editing software, in an intensive one-day course. Classes are small (maximum – eight people) and are taught by a qualified video professional with years of experience.
Students will be able to explore all the classic areas of video production, including planning, shooting, pre-production and editing. They will also receive course notes and learn how to burn their video project on to DVD or stream it onto the Web.
The Masterclass is ideal for those familiar with the basics of video editing or who have done some DV editing before. Basic knowledge of PC operation is also recommended.
The day-long class costs £99 plus VAT. Classes run from 10am to 4pm with lunch provided. You can register for the class at the Matrox web site: www.matrox.com/video . You will then be called and asked to give your credit card details over the phone.
Both courses take place at Adobe's offices in Stockley Park near Heathrow. The course dates are as follows:
Intro to DV Editing courses are on: May 1, May 8, June 13, and June 19.
The DV Masterclasses are on May 29 and June 18.
