Tedial Unveils Support For Closed Captioning and Workflow

Tedial, the leading provider of Media Asset Management (MAM), Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) and Business Process Management (BPM) software has unveiled key enhancements to its workflow optimisation portfolio at NAB 2012 on booth N6506.
The company has announced its support for closed captioning as Tedial’s Tarsys MAM system is now able to automatically extract, display and insert closed captions during ingest and transcoding. Tedial will demonstrate its fully integrated media workflow and automated processes addressing the needs of broadcasters required to adhere to mandatory closed captioning laws.
Following in-depth feedback from customers Tedial has redesigned the interface to its Tarsys MAM solution; further enhancing operator experience and providing additional features for cataloguing, editing and exporting media to third-party systems. The new GUI has been specifically designed to simplify collaborative working between professionals in any media enterprise and beyond and will be demonstrated on the booth.
Further simplifying business procedures and workflows for media organisations Tedial has launched a new web-based version of Ficus BPM. The new software enables the implementation, monitoring and execution of production workflows in a fully web-based environment. Delivering unique features including proxy editing followed by the automatic conforming of a high resolution version, the Ficus Web Client makes tasks such as segmentation of media as well as compliance editing possible.
Tedial is also demonstrating enhancements to its ingest management tool Capture Manager, which provides full control of a wide range of VTRs and other devices. The latest version supports industry standard protocols for routers and features a powerful source scheduler application. This enables operators to schedule, access and plan work around any current or future ingest feed.
Rafael Dubois, Tedial’s Sales and Marketing Director said: "We’re delighted to make these announcements at NAB further highlighting our commitment to broadcasters worldwide. Tedial’s philosophy is to improve productivity and reduce production costs by simplifying and redesigning workflows according to business requirements. These latest updates reflect our strong development across the product line."
