MediaCityUK To Receive Royal Visit
The team at MediaCityUK are making the final arrangements for when Her Majesty The Queen will visit and officially open the facility.
The Peel Group development, which is now home to BBC and ITV as well as a host of other commercial occupiers large and small, is due to be officially opened this Friday;with both the Queen and the Duke Of Edinburgh visiting various companies.
The Queen will arrive and be given a tour of The Studios, led by the Chairman of the Peel Group John Whittaker.
After her studio tour The Queen will be met by guests, in the Open Centre, and will then unveil a plaque before she officially declares MediaCityUK open.
She will then make her way to Quay House (one of the BBC’s three buildings at MediaCityUK) and take a tour of the facilities. She will leave after starting the BBC Sport Relief Mile.
Separately, The Duke of Edinburgh, will take a tour of and officially open the new University of Salford premises at MediaCityUK.
MediaCityUK is a £650million development by the Peel Group. It is the new home for BBC North, ITV, Coronation Street, SIS LIVE, The University of Salford and over 60 SME’s.
