Network debut new products at IBC 2002

Network Electronics ASA, the manufacturer of VikinX, the world's most popular small and mid-sized router range, and Flashlink, a versatile, cost-effective optical transport platform, has introduced a complete new series of analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue encoders/decoders/converters, embedders, de-embedders, and frame synchronizer/de-glitcher products.
Network Electronics ASA also marks the beginning of a new era in routing by introducing the VikinX.128 modular router concept.
The following products will be showcased for the first time in Europe at this year's IBC:
The award winning MR-TR-D-15xx supplies high-performance media conversion for various signal formats from 19.4Mbps up to 1485Mbps. MR-TR-D builds a bridge between the established SDH/SONET services and new services as uncompressed video, DVB-ASI and GigE, by providing both on one single fibre strand. The multi-rate converter and transponder enables carriers to benefit from new services and revenue without investing in a new fibre infrastructure.
HD-EO and HD-OE provide high performance electrical to optical conversion for video signal formats from 19.4Mbps up to 1485Mbps. Sophisticated optical technology assures unmatched signal accuracy even in long haul applications with pathological signal patterns (SDI checkfield).
ETH-100 - Fast Ethernet Converter is a bi-directional 10BaseT/100BaseTx to fibre converter with 2 independent electrical ports, Ethernet switch and packet buffer. ETH-100 complies with IEEE 802.3.
AV-MUX AES Audio embedder / de-embedder products with optical output / input for 1310 and 1550nm multiplexes / de-multiplexes 4 AES stereo audio channels with up to 24-bit word lengths, according to SMPTE-272M. Sample rate converters allow synchronous or asynchronous AES signals with sampling rates from 16-144kHz. 110 Ohm balanced and 75 Ohm unbalanced versions are available.
ADC-SDI Decoder and DAC-SDI Encoder/Converter are new 10-bit NTSC / PAL conversion devices. Both units provide field 1 source synchronization for 8-field-PAL / 4-field-NTSC, resulting in improved picture quality for analogue - SDI - analogue links. ADC-SDI features analogue inputs with passive loop-through, 3 SDI outputs, EDH insertion, 27 MHz oversampling and automatic standard detection. DAC-SDI has a built-in frame synchronizer with sub-carrier and horizontal phase adjustment, 4x oversampling and 4 analogue outputs.
DAC-AES and ADC-AES are newly developed audio converters featuring 24-bit performance and a dynamic range of more than 117dBA. Sample rate converters allow sampling rates between 32 and 96kHz. Both products provide 2 independent converters on one board.
