Projection Studio Launched By Ashton

London-based projection artist and designer Ross Ashton has launched his new creative venture - The Projection Studio.
It will be dedicated to the specialist art of large format video and PIGI projection in which Ashton is said to be a worldwide expert.
Since 1992, Ashton has headed projection company E/T/C UK, which was acquired as part of the founding process of The Projection Studio.
With the rapid expansion of Ashton's work as a creative designer in the last two years, The Projection Studio establishes him as an independent creative force with the flexibility to work on any projects, with hardware supplied by any company.
The move to broaden his creative horizons comes after a busy and productive year of producing specially commissioned works for an array of eclectic and exciting projects.
These have included Festivals of Light in the cities of York and Durham in the UK, Pittsburg in the US and for the Rheinpartie Festival in Germany, where he transformed the landmark Germania statue into Europa.
Crown of Light, Ashton's light installation onto Durham's famous Cathedral, was cited as a key reason why Durham's Lumière has won the Culture Award North East for Best Event. His other award winning work has included 2009's Burns Illuminated, a celebration of the life and works of Scotland's most famous poet, Robert Burns, in Glasgow.
