LipSync Projects Screened At London Film Festival

Production and post-production group LipSync has announced that two of its recent projects will feature prominently at the Times BFI London Film Festival, which runs from October 14-29.
The festival opens with the world premiere of the stop-motion animated feature Fantastic Mr Fox, directed by Wes Anderson and closes with the world premiere of Nowhere Boy, the story of John Lennon's early life, directed by Sam Taylor-Wood.
LipSync is a production partner on Nowhere Boy and has been involved from early in pre-production; going on location recces, advising on set with regard to replacing modern elements for a period piece and attending a green screen shoot. LipSync completed full post on the film, including VFX, 4K DI and audio.
LipSync also contributed a significant number of VFX shots on Fantastic Mr Fox. Stefan Drury, Head of VFX at LipSync, said: "This was a challenging project as it involved the seamless melding of very traditional stop-motion techniques with digital effects. In order to cope with production deadlines on such a labour-intensive project, part of our work involved integrating backgrounds and sets in order to be able to shoot several scenes on different stages at the same time."
Fantastic Mr Fox is released in the UK by 20th Century Fox on October 23 2009, while Nowhere Boy opens in the UK on December 26 2009, distributed by Icon Film Distribution.
