A top video solutions company in the communication, media and entertainment industries, Thompson, has announced that it has appointed a new Senior Vice President of Business Development for Technicolor Network Services, (TNS) Alan Wright.

TNS is a leader in broadcast preparation, operations, distribution and media management services.

IOts key customers include BBC Worldwide, Canal+, Disney, France24, ITV, M6, NBC Universal, Netherlands Public Broadcasting and TV5 Monde.

"Technicolor's expertise in delivering a broad range of managed services for multiple content formats across multiple distribution platforms leaves us well-positioned for the future," said Bill Patrizio, President of Technicolor Network Services.

"Alan's background brings the right blend of knowledge and experience to shape our business strategy and continue to accelerate our growth in an increasingly convergent world.

"I'm very pleased to be joining Technicolor's Network Services division as the industry enters the next phase of convergence," said Mr Wright, who spent eight years leading business development at Motorola.

"Thomson is well-positioned to take advantage of this exciting opportunity."

Prior to joining Thomson, Mr Wright led business development for many of Motorola's most profitable and high-profile global businesses, including the overall strategy and business development for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. Prior to that, he held a number of positions with systems integrators and professional service companies.

He is a Chartered Electronic Engineer, and holds degrees from the University of Glasgow and the University of Durham in the U.K.
