Golden Square finish post on ‘Strictly Dance Fever’

Award winning postproduction house Golden Square has just finished the post on a fantastic trailer for the exciting new series, ‘Strictly Dance Fever’, presented by Graham Norton on BBC One.

A camera travels in ‘Moulin Rouge-esque’ fashion over London rooftops at night, sneaking in through an attic window to find Graham Norton feverishly tapping away on an old typewriter by the waxy light of a single candle. Norton, the tortured artist in sweaty vest, can be heard narrating as he types, talking of a brilliant show that is about to hit the city, a show to rival all other shows…. the sensual dream sequence begins with dazzling footage of dancing boys and girls.

Fasa Oyibo created a three dimensional camera move in over the tops of buildings in flame, which were shot as 2D stills by Golden Square’s design team. The cityscape was a combination of hundreds of stills with the roofs, chimney posts and lamposts built in 3D and tracked into the sequence in Flame by Fasa. A lighting effect was then added to create an atmospheric London at night. The live action sequence we see through as we move through the window was shot by Zac and Dan at Stink and put together by Aman Kang.

3D Artists Sean Elliott and Miguel Baron Bilbao worked with After Effects designers Ben Leyland, Matt Stephens and Dave Farnham with Fasa Oyibo putting the sequence together in Flame. Aman Kang was the Fire Editor and the job was produced by Andrew Swepson.
