Imago brings Polycom & Samsung together for bundle deal

Imago, the UK’s leading video communications distributor, is encouraging resellers to get behind the burgeoning growth of videoconferencing in the mainstream market by offering a bundle deal on popular Polycom and Samsung products, which will run until April 30.
The introduction of new models in Polycom’s VSX range has helped to generate a broader interest in videoconferencing during 2004 and has opened up opportunities for traditional IT resellers as well as increasing business in the AV market.
The bundle incorporates Polycom’s recently launched VSX 7000 and 8000 series of products, which include best-sellers such as the VSX 7800 and 7400, combined with Samsung’s 32” SM323T and 40” SM403T LCD screens and the 42” PPM42S3 and 50” PPM50H3 plasma displays.
Imago is offering resellers an extra discount of 8% on videoconferencing solutions and screens that are bought together, providing them with a considerable increase in margin when the products are sold on to the end user. As a unique feature, even if prices are reduced by manufacturers, the 8% additional discount will still apply throughout the promotion.
The key advantage of using Samsung displays for videoconferencing applications is that they offer a split screen facility that allows people and data to be on the same screen at the same time. For example, during a presentation, the audience can see both the presenter and the Powerpoint slides and the presenter can also see the slides and his audience.
Ian Vickerage, Managing Director of Imago Group, said: “There has been a growing interest in videoconferencing from more mainstream IT resellers over recent months, and we are keen to encourage this. The bundle offers a financial incentive as well as delivering a powerful combination of products, and we believe that this will help both IT and AV resellers. Customers are looking for larger screens that help to make videoconferencing even more effective and the Samsung models deliver fantastic picture quality and much larger image sizes.”
