Free version of Allegorithmic's groundbreaking texture modelling plug-in now available

Allegorithmic, an award-winning company specialising in the development of innovative tools for motion graphics and visual effects, has announced a free version of MaP|ZONE, the ultimate complex texture and filters designer for Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Paint Shop Pro.
Available for both PC and Mac, MaP|ZONE FREE is a fully featured version of the groundbreaking plug-in containing over 400 preset effects, including fully-editable non photorealistic rendering styles, filters, texture effects, colour patterns and grayscale maps. Each of these effects is fully procedural so that artists can easily obtain thousands of different effects from each one.
MaP|ZONE FREE also gives users access to a user community to allow graphic artists to share custom presets and get new ones as soon as they are published. The free version also features a simplified user interface and an updated effects library.
“With MaP|ZONE FREE we are making our groundbreaking software available to every graphic artist, texture artist, game developer, and student who wishes to build and edit highly complex texture maps, patterns and filters to create realistic textures, shaders and astonishing visual effects,” said Sébastien Deguy, Allegorithmic’s founder and CEO. “With MaP|ZONE artists can generate an unlimited number of never seen-before effects, using simple ‘paint’ techniques. There is virtually no limit to the amount of parameter changes MaP|ZONE can handle, and no limit to the creativity it offers.”
MaP|ZONE is based on Allegorithmic’s unique FX Maps technology, a patent-pending set of algorithms that allow simple and direct hand modification of procedural maps.
