SANCTUARY ACQUIRES WESTWAY STUDIOS

SANCTUARY Studios, a division of the Sanctuary Group, have announced the acquisition of Westway Studios and Southbrook Construction from Southbrook Group.
Southbrook Construction, founded in the early eighties, have together with Westway Studios established one of central London’s premier facilities for the production of commercials, pop promos and TV programming.
Sanctuary’s portfolio of film and TV facilities already includes Sanctuary Film Studios (formerly Asylum Studios), Sanctuary Photographic (formerly Fox Studios) and Graham Barclay Backdrops. Westway’s existing management will remain as before and trade will continue as normal.
Chris Jerome, CEO of Sanctuary Studios, said: “I am extremely pleased to add these two companies to our division as they fit very nicely alongside our other film and TV related studios, namely Asylum and Fox. We will now be able to offer a full range of services, from small photo shoots for bands performing on Top of the Pops to larger stills photo shoots for the likes of Prada. On the TV and commercial side of things we are now in a position to accommodate everything from small-sized TV productions such as ‘As If' to larger-sized productions such as ‘Randall and Hopkirk Deceased’.
“We are also looking forward to working a lot closer with our screen division and sister company Sanctuary Music Television, both of which have production requirements this year.”
Westway Studio has previously been used for the production of Channel 4’s ‘The White Room’, and is currently producing the second series of ‘As If’ which will be aired on Channel 4 and its digital sister channel, E4. Southbrook Construction continues to provide set building and construction services for major TV, commercials and pop promo companies, including the BBC, Carlton & Channel 4. The companies will be rebranded as Sanctuary Westway and Sanctuary Westway Construction to avoid any confusion with Southbrook Group.
