SONIFEX SELL 5000TH REDBOX

THREE years since the launch of the Redbox range of analogue and digital interfaces, Sonifex have sold their 5000th Redbox.
It was delivered to Julian Watson of Radio Medica in October 2001. The Redbox RB-SM2 dual stereo to mono converter was ordered as part of Radio Medica’s on-going studio refurbishments.
Radio Medica is the Hospital Radio service for the Goole and District Hospital in East Yorkshire. There are approximately 20 volunteers running Radio Medica with a core of five people handling the main day to day running of the station.
Watson (engineering) and Gary Booth (promotions) have a long history with Radio Medica having 28 years of experience between them.
Booth said: "It’s been difficult raising the finances to improve the facilities here, but we’ve mostly generated money from discos and road-show events held throughout the year. I think that we’ve got a good station awareness and we’re quite successful with the local press."
Currently, there is a hard-wired audio system throughout the hospital and the station output is also accessible on the TV system which is distributed around most areas of the hospital, including the waiting rooms.
Radio Medica broadcasts 24 hours a day using a combination of live broadcasting and the Myriad automation system. (CD)
