Hugely popular kids' programming brands are being launched throughout Latin America.
Hasbro Studios, the Los Angeles-based production and distribution division of Hasbro, Inc has announced a deal with Latin American television network Discovery Kids, for Hasbro Studios' series The Adventures of Chuck and Friends [26 X 22) and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (26 X 22). They will now appear throughout the region in major markets, including Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Columbia and Uruguay. Additionally, Cartoon Network Latin America will launch Transformers Prime in the fourth quarter as a result of a deal between Hasbro Studios and the broadcaster. "We are thrilled to partner with these two great networks and bring our high quality, colourful characters to this important region," said Finn Arnesen, Hasbro Studios' senior VP of international distribution and development. "Expanding into Latin America has been a critical component of our international growth strategy and we are excited to be able to bring our programming there so soon after the launch of our studio." Discovery Kids Latin America, owned by Discovery Communications and headquartered in Miami, operates a programming block on the Latin American version of Discovery Channel. Cartoon Network Latin America, a division of Turner Broadcasting, reaches key territories throughout Latin America via multiple feeds. Hasbro Studios develops and produces shows based on Hasbro's world-class brands, including Transformer, My Little Pony and G.I. Joe and delivers new branded content; and produces programs from top third-party content creators. Many of these shows run on The Hub, a television network for children and their families that was re-branded from Discovery Kids last October, as well as on multiple channels in international markets. The Hub is a joint venture between Hasbro and Discovery Communications. (BMcC/GK)
