               Forbidden announces European Editing Partnership
Video streaming and editing specialists, Forbidden Technologies, have announced a strategic partnership with Vizor, a leading provider of web and mobile television and video services.
Vizor has implemented Forbidden’s FORscene web-based system to significantly reduce the time spent in postproduction of its programmes.
FORscene’s web-based functionality for logging, editing, reviews and publishing has already been put to successful use by broadcasters and production companies in the UK such as Granada, GMTV and Mentorn. Vizor installed a FORscene compressor at its Helsinki headquarters to ingest rushes to a secure website. This allows editors and producers to create rough cuts on their office and home PCs, providing greater flexibility.
“FORscene can be used by big television companies to log, edit and transport rushes, but in Finland it is especially useful for local producers and broadcasters who may be filming in remote locations. A major benefit of FORscene’s editing functionality is that the team can log and edit from anywhere via the web,” said Jaakko Visuri, CEO at Vizor.
Vizor, which is the founder of the Finnish digital channel ‘TV-FIVE’ is now looking for a new television license for interactive service. The new ‘peoples channel’ concept is based on Forbidden Technologies platform for editing and web and mobile publishing.
Stephen Streater, CEO of Forbidden Technologies, said: “This latest strategic partnership demonstrates the production benefits of FORscene to a wide variety of companies in very different locations.
“We have been working closely with Vizor since August 2005 and this deal signals the wider use of the internet for post production purposes. It is one of a series of partnerships pushing the use of FORscene out across the globe.”
