Lightworks Release New Alacrity II

It has been announced that Lightworks UK has released two new Alacrity II models with Software Version 1.3 featuring improved performance and Native Editing for many formats.
Alacrity iI replaces the Alacrity MR+ and brings a number of enhancements and improved value for On Line and Offline Editing. There are two models of Alacrity II, both based on Dual Xeon Quad core motherboards for faster operation. Support is included in Alacrity II for editing while ingesting for improved productivity and fast turnaround.
Alacrity II RM is built in a 4RU "Geevs Style" chassis with space for up to six removable hard drives. Options are available for RAID 5 and operation with uncompressed HD.
Alacrity II HP is built on the HP XW8600 workstation with internal space for up to four hard drives. Alacrity II RM is being introduced at a lower price than the previous Alacrity MR+. Both Alacrity II models are shipping now.
True Native Editing with version 1.3 software, as supplied with Alacrity II, expands the On Line capability of Lightworks great editing toolset. With realtime mixed format editing and true Native support for avi, mxf, quicktime, DPX and RED files, Lightworks 1.3 offers east integration in the world of open file transfers. Supported formats include HDV XDCam and P2. Also supported for interchange are OMF, AAF and DPX sequences.
Lightworks 1.3 maintains full metadata interchange and Native file format support with the Geevs video server allowing great integrated tapeless systems to be built. Enhanced support in 1.3 ensures editing while recording very close to live.
Support for Native Editing RED raw files and Prores422 files from Final Cut Pro is also provided. Lightworks is leading the way in offering these facilities in the Windows-based editing environment.
