Midlands Video Company Recognised On International Stage

Communication Matters, a DVD by UK video production company iceni, for Birmingham City Council and the National Deaf Children's Society, has been highly commended at the 2008 International Visual Communications Association Clarion Awards.
The video, narrated by BBC Midlands presenter Shefali Oza, features Asian children, young people and their families reflecting on the impact of deafness.
Speaking at the ceremony at the British Film Institute, Marco Forgione, IVCA Chief Executive, said: "These awards celebrate companies who have shown a real commitment to ethical, socially responsible and environmental communications. This year's nominations showcase the outstanding, creative work that is being produced for both corporate and broadcast clients."
Previous winners of Clarion Awards include Al Gore, Leonardo Di Caprio, Sir Paul McCartney, The National Theatre, The National Trust, The Samaritans, BBC and Channel 4.
Andi Jepson, Director of Communication Matters, commented: "We are delighted that iceni has been recognised at such a high profile award ceremony. The honest and engaging interviews we captured are testament to the dedication and commitment to inclusion of the Specialist Support Services team at Birmingham City Council."
Cathy Bentley, Managing Director of iceni, said: "This is our sixth international award in 2008, and we have been nominated for a Royal Television Society Award.
"It's great that a Midlands video production company, with a dedicated staff from across the region, is recognised for creativity on a world stage."
