Mobile TV Journalists Get A Firm Grip With Solid State Logic 'Gravity'

A world leading media technology innovator, Solid State Logic (SSL), is currently demonstrating how professional journalists 'on the go' can benefit from the new Gravity Mobile Record application for SSL's Gravity news production system.
Gravity Mobile Record offers the ability to record and upload media via the 3G network for immediate use either for transmission, or editing for insert into the first available breaking news story.
When a camera is not available or cannot be granted access, Gravity Mobile record can stream media back to the Gravity media store for inclusion in a current story or to be assigned to an editor or production team.
When a news story breaks the journalist is often completely responsible for reporting, shooting, editing and uploading their story via the satellite uplink facility if available. Costs and availability of suitable hardware now mean that the 3G network can be used to import media with greater flexibility and at a substantially lower cost.
Gravity Mobile Record means you are not constrained by format or video standards. At IBC 2008, Gravity Mobile Record will be demonstrated using HTC’s next-generation business phone, the HTC Touch Pro but will work with any Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional-equipped phone.
Employing a simplified GRAVITY interface and enabling the highest resolution images allowed by the phone and network availability, GRAVITY provides the tools for streaming and uploading files frame accurately.
