Globalstor Data Corporation Debuts ExtremeStor-DI REDe At NAB

Globalstor Data Corporation, one of the leading distributors of high performance RAID, SAN and storage/video servers, is debuting its new ExtremeStor-DI REDe at NAB 2008.
The new storage server will be showcased at the ASSIMILATET stand at NAB in the Renaissance Hotel Suite.
It represents the latest within Globalstor's ExtremeStor-DI product line to offer compatability with today's popular RED digital cinema cameras.
In advancing along with the film production world as it transitions into the digital age and heightens its use of RED cameras, the ExtremeStor-DI REDe features Dual Quad core processors that are optimized for uncompressing and playing back RED camera footage as a high-resolution 2K image within real time at 24 frames per second.
Available in a 24 drive 5U that offers up to 24TB, the ExtremeStor-DI REDe is also available in a 10 drive tower for up to 10TB. It also includes the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4600/5600 by PNY professional graphics board (optional NVIDIA Quadro FX 4600/5600 SDI available by PNY).
According to Globalstor Data Corporation President Scott Leif, the ExtremeStor-DI REDe presents a way for professionals to streamline the production process in a time and cost-efficient manner. He said: "The RED camera is becoming the preferred format for today's film production, Globalstor prides itself in providing our customers with new solutions while continuing to develop products that evolve along with the industry's ever-changing technology and equipment and preferences."
Mr Leif added: "Our new ExtremeStor-DI REDe, when equipped with ASSIMILATE's Scratch software, allows producers and directors to not only view what was captured, but also apply colour grades directly to the footage and make adjustments at will at 24 frames per second."
The new ExtremeStor-DI REDe is available through Globalstor Data authorized partners. Prices for the ExtremeStor-DI REDe start at $17,042 for the 10 drive tower with a base capacity of 2.5TB.
Globalstor Data Corporation is a leading distributor of high performance RAID, SAN and storage/video servers. The company serves a worldwide customer base from its US headquarters in Chatsworth, California and internationally through a strong foundation of over-seas authorized resellers.
