Documentary Detailing Derry's Troubled Past Shortlisted For Award
‘No Go - The Free Derry Story’, the acclaimed documentary from Derry director Vinny Cunningham has been shortlisted in the Best Documentary category of the 33rd Würzburg International Film Festival in Germany (January 25-28, 2007).
‘No Go - The Free Derry Story’ picks up from where Cunningham’s IFTA winning documentary ‘Battle of the Bogside’ left off.
Narrated by Bernard Hill, ‘No Go’ tells the story of what happened and takes viewers behind the barricades and into the nine weeks of 1969 that have come to be immortalised as 'Free Derry'.
The documentary is an Open Reel production with finance from the BBC, the Irish Film Board, the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission in association with The Nerve Centre and Northland Broadcast.
Members of the film’s production team will travel to Würzburg for the screening and awards which take place on the January 28.
