'Miss Potter' Makes Silver Screen Debut As Children's Much Loved Author

The major new feature film, 'Miss Potter', about the legendary British children’s author Beatrix Potter, comes to the big screen in December thanks to £1.2 million of National Lottery funding through the UK Film Council’s Premiere Fund.
Directed by Chris Noonan and starring Renee Zellweger in the title role with Ewan McGregor as her publisher, the British film was filmed in the Lake District bringing a huge amount of investment into Cumbria. Tourism bosses are confident that the pulling power of the film will boost the local economy further.
Following the film's premiere on Sunday, Miss Potter will have a special screening in Bowness in Cumbria on December 17 before going on general release on January 5.
