BrightDrive to provide collaborative environment for Fame Post-Production

Fame Post-Production, a powerhouse of SE Asia’s digital film industry, has purchased a BrightDrive shared media system from Bright Systems.
BrightDrive will provide Fame with a highly efficient and powerful data-centric DI infrastructure for sharing media between all of its post production and digital finishing systems.
“With BrightDrive, our whole method of working becomes faster, easier to manage and a much smoother process,” said Wilaiwan Leelachart, Managing Director, Fame Post-Production. “As a big consumer of advanced technology, we make huge demands from our equipment. BrightDrive is incredibly flexible and powerful, and will enable all our operators to get the most from the systems that we already have in place. This will help us to maintain our reputation for producing high quality work on time and to budget.”
The BrightDrive system will be put to work immediately on a major new feature film, King Naresuan, directed by Chatrichalerm Yukol for Prommitr Production Co, where it will enable separate teams of DI operators using scanning, visual effects and color correction systems, to access and work with the same media concurrently.
This means that while Spirit operators perform real-time scanning, other users will be able to perform finishing processes, including color correction and dust-bust, simultaneously.
Also at the same time, BrightDrive will function as a network attached storage (NAS) system enabling 2D and 3D visual effects operators using Linux-based Discreet Inferno and Flame systems to access the same media.
By sharing the same media concurrently, Fame will eliminate the painstaking task of making multiple copies of media files for each operator, or having to wait for one operator to complete a task before the next process in the DI workflow can be commenced. Instead, with BrightDrive, operators will benefit from sharing media with smooth delivery of files across all operating systems at delivery speeds reaching 4k and beyond using Ethernet, fibre channel or video networks.
