Xytech Systems Corporation to unveil Enterprise 8.5 At NAB 2006

Xytech Systems, a leading provider of media asset and workflow management software, has announced that it will continue its tradition of unveiling the latest release of its flagship product Enterprise at NAB, with version 8.5, which includes three important new modules for; Shift Scheduling, Article Management and Quality Control.
Enterprise 8.5 also includes further enhancements to existing modules as well as standardising the enhancements implemented over the past year.
Shift Scheduling provides a range of tools to manage personnel and associated facilities. It also contains a Shift Maintenance option, which expands on these tools to provide broadcast and production facilities with a completely integrated product that encompasses project, task and shift based scheduling, time tracking, union and labour rules, and payroll data. This module is an optional addition to the Scheduling, Rental and Transmission modules.
Article Management is designed to be used for rented objects, including costumes or props and for items with required accessories that are not necessarily billable or of primary importance - such as camera stands, cables and bags. Photos can be viewed for making aesthetic decisions, items can be organised by creative categories, and advanced capabilities allow a ‘shopping cart’ selection process. Potential users include creative personnel such as set designers, costume designers and prop masters as well as more traditional rental employees - schedulers, warehouse staff and service/maintenance engineers. This module is an optional addition to the Scheduling and Rental modules.
Quality Control can be used to record and manage quality control data for media elements. It offers a very flexible way to create highly customisable Quality Control data entry screens and attach one or more session lists of quality control data to each element record. Custom reports can be created for each Quality Control data entry screen, and all quality control data is completely searchable. This module is an optional addition to the Media Order (formerly Duplication), MetaVault Library and Advanced Library modules.
Several enhancements to existing functions have also been made in Enterprise v8.5, including: Time-Off and Weekly tab pages in the Resource Maintenance program are combined into a new Roster/Off-Time tab page to display occasional and planned time-off periods for labour resources in one place. Labour resource schedules are organised through three general booking-type methods. Roster and scheduled-day-off records represent times that resources are regularly scheduled to work and to be off respectively. Other-time-off records cover resources when away from work during regularly scheduled roster dates such as vacations, sick days and personal days.
The new Articles application, as well as the existing Resource and Master programs, are now equipped with a fully customisable tab page to establish unique sets of search criteria that fit specific business needs. There is no limit to the number of custom fields that can be defined for each Additional Criteria tab page. And it is possible to search for any information entered into custom fields. Article and Resource records can now include a thumbnail picture to easily select items based on appearance during the search process. This enhancement helps creative personnel choose items simply based on aesthetics. In addition to the main thumbnail picture, several photos can be attached to each record to view the item in different angles and settings.
Enterprise v8.5 and all other Xytech products will be available for demonstration on the stand throughout the show.
