Reef Television appoints former Leopard Films Unit Manager as Head Of Production
Lifestyle and arts production company Reef Television has announced the appointment of former Leopard Films Unit Manager Paul Hanrahan as Head of Production.
At Leopard Films Paul was responsible for ‘Cash in the Attic’, ‘Money Spinners’ and ‘Car Booty’, and as well as overseeing several new pilots for the BBC and Channel 4, Paul was also Leopard’s International Sales Manager, responsible for distributing their programmes around the world.
Paul has a proven track record in a range of programming, but it is his specialty in quality factual programming that makes him an ideal choice for Reef Television, enabling them to build on their already strong reputation in lifestyle and arts programming.
Richard Farmbrough, Managing Director, Reef Television says: “It’s a very exciting time at Reef Television – we have some significant projects in the pipeline and Paul’s appointment grows our in-house talent base to meet these demands. Paul has proven himself to be one of the most the most talented Production Managers in the business - he is a natural choice for Head of Production and understands the Reef ethos.”
Based in the heart of Covent Garden in London’s West End, Reef Television is a young production company committed to making fresh and innovative programming in a range of genres, with a special interest in arts documentaries and lifestyle programmes. With a raft of commissions from BBC ONE, BBC TWO and UKTV Style, Reef has already established a strong reputation for lifestyle programmes, covering such areas as property, gardens, travel and antiques.
Past productions include the hit BBC TWO Daytime series ‘Sun Sea & Bargain Spotting’. Presented by charismatic antiques expert Chris Gower, the show achieved an audience share of 25%, regularly winning it’s slot when it was broadcast in early 2005. Other successes include ‘First Time Buyers’ (UKTV Style), ‘Perfect Properties’ (UKTV Style) ‘Model Gardens’ (UKTV Style), and 2004’s hit daytime show ‘Put Your Money Where Your House Is’ (BBC ONE, UKTV Style), which achieved an audience share of 23%.
Reef Television have a number of productions in development, including travel property show ‘Uncharted Territory’ for BBC TWO and Foreign Exchange, a BBC Daytime commission following a successful pilot broadcasting earlier this year.
The Managing Director of Reef Television, Richard Farmbrough, is the executive producer on most Reef projects.
