Hamlet delivers low-cost, easy to use quality control for editors

The rapid growth in desktop editing has called for waveform monitors and vectorscopes, which fit into the digital environment, provide accurate quality control while being simple to use, and meet tight budget requirements.
Hamlet meets all these requirements with a range of precision tools such as the LCD Scope. Typical of the new breed of user is IBT Media in Merriam, Kansas, which has fitted Hamlet LCD400WVA LCD Scopes in each of its Final Cut Pro and Avid edit rooms.
Tom Edwards of Broadcast Technical Services Inc. (BTSI), a leading systems integrator, said: “The Hamlet product line provides us with a good selection of products meeting our top three needs: reliability, ease of operation and form factor. As installers and designers we like the small amount of space and power the Hamlet products use; client operations and engineering staff praise Hamlet for straightforward setup, operational accuracy and feature set. And the products work out of the box – we have had no Hamlet failures in our installations.”
Steve Nunney of Hamlet said: “The IBT Media installation is just why we designed the LCD Scope: a precision vectorscope and waveform monitor which is easy to use and read, and at a price point which makes it readily affordable, even alongside the new breed of editors like Final Cut Pro. We certainly appreciate Tom’s words about the simplicity and reliability of Hamlet products. In the LCD Scope, for example, internal digital processing and the use of an LCD display rather than a CRT makes it highly stable with no need for recalibration, so the continuing cost of ownership is virtually zero.”
