Røde VideoMic brings professional sound to the camcorder users

Already famous for producing some of the world's finest professional broadcast and film sound microphones, Australian manufacturer Røde has announced its first microphone developed specifically for video production applications.
The new VideoMic attaches via a standard hot-shoe fitting and is a shotgun design featuring an integral windshield and full suspension mount which isolates the microphone entirely from mechanical noise generated by the camcorder. In addition, a switchable 80Hz filter eliminates unwelcome rumble.
The VideoMic is constructed from ABS making it both light and tough, and power for in excess of 100 hours use is provided by a standard 9V PP3 battery, with an LED to indicate low battery power. Output is at line level, which minimises camcorder preamp noise, and the mic plugs in via a standard 3.5mm mini jack.
Drawing on the company's considerable expertise in high-end, professional microphone design, the VideoMic exhibits a clear and open sound with an exceptionally wide bandwidth and ultra-low noise. At just £89.99, Røde claim that the VideoMic offers the features and performance of many video microphones costing more than twice the price.

Available now from HHB, the Røde VideoMic is supplied complete with a custom foam windshield.
