Mill uses Tornado high-speed camera for whirlwind BBC 'Six Nations' trailer

The Mill's Rob Sanders has "transformed the fury of the rugby pitch into sheer beauty" for the BBC’s ‘Six Nations’ trailer, using a Tornado hi-speed HD camera.
A DCP in telecine was skipped in favour of grading the material directly in Flame, which helps to further differentiate its raw look. Colours are so stylised that water sprays look like burnt-out white film.
Stefan Coorey (The Mill’s Flame Artist) and Rob Sanders worked closely together to develop an overtly optical design for the spots. The brief was to make the footage look like it was going through a live editing process, so Coorey took a digital camera around The Mill, filming visual sound bites. He then spent days in Flame graphically treating the spots with various overlays, such as borders made from film negative, before mixing in recorder and monitor digital numbers, time codes and equaliser outputs.
