Ascent Media confirms £300,000 investment in new screening room at Soho Images

Ascent Media has announced the launch of the UK’s first digital screening theatre with 2K digital on screen grading facilities at Soho Images film laboratory, 8 - 14 Meard Street, London W1.
“Soho Images screening theatre has been planned from the outset with two distinct functions built into the design,” said Paul Collard, MD of Soho Images. “In its first format, the theatre is a 36 seat film and digital preview theatre, capable of running full feature films with changeovers, with a 5.4m x 2.3m screen size and a throw of 10m.
"In its second format, a block of four seats can be removed from the centre rear row and replaced by a digital grading desk, where da Vinci colour correction panels can remotely control a Quantel iQ workstation based at our sister facility, One, with the HD graded pictures then projected back on to the Soho Images’ theatre full-size screen, using a Barco DP100 2K digital projector.”
