Net Insight And DMC Scale Repeatable Remote Production For European Football

DMC Production Norway has extended its use of Net Insight's Open Live Media workflow to cover the UEFA Europa League play-off between Lillestrøm SK and KF Egnatia at Åråsen on 27 August, deploying Nimbra 520 and Nimbra Edge in a repeatable remote production model proven at Blinkfestivalen and in Tromsø.

The approach underscored how broadcast-quality HEVC contribution over internet- and cloud-based infrastructure can meet the rigours of live sport while improving flexibility and production efficiency.

At Åråsen, the setup featured eight system cameras for main, close-up, offside, behind-goal and studio positions, plus two super slow-motion units and an ENG camera. Nimbra 520 handled high-quality HEVC contribution, while Nimbra Edge provided centralised orchestration and control of the live workflow.

The design aims to streamline distributed live operations. Instead of managing multiple components separately, DMC can use Nimbra Edge to run the contribution path as a single, controlled live service, cutting manual configuration while retaining the quality and oversight needed for premium sports output.

DMC has been a leader in centralised remote production across the Nordics for years, producing hundreds of live sports events annually and operating dedicated centralised infrastructure in Norway and throughout the region. The model consolidates production teams and key resources off-site, while cameras and selected equipment remain at the venue.
