LiveU Puts AI-Powered Q Era EcoSystem At The Centre Of Its IBC2026 Showcase
LiveU will use IBC2026 to demonstrate how its live IP-video technology has evolved beyond cellular bonding into what it calls the "Q Era" – an AI-driven, workflow-focused EcoSystem designed to automate live production across news, sports, entertainment and live events.
Exhibiting at Stand 7.C24, the company will showcase its latest connectivity intelligence, cloud production tools and workflow automation technologies, led by the LU900Q Intelligent Production Unit and the wider LiveU EcoSystem.
The announcement comes as LiveU marks 20 years since pioneering cellular bonding technology. The company says more than 1,500 LiveU units are currently supporting coverage of the ongoing World Football Championship across 16 host cities in three countries, highlighting the scale of deployment for its live production technologies.
LU900Q takes centre stage
The LU900Q, LiveU's flagship Intelligent Production Unit, arrives at IBC following deployments at major international events, including the Winter Games in Italy. Built around LiveU IQ (LIQ™), the system uses AI-driven connectivity intelligence and intelligent operator selection to optimise network performance in real time, helping crews maintain reliable transmission in challenging environments.
Designed for multi-camera productions, the LU900Q combines native LIQ connectivity with advanced eSIM technology, optimised 5G modems and a MIMO antenna array. It supports SDI, HDMI, USB and IP camera inputs, while offering HD and 4K transmission with 10-bit HDR 4:2:2 encoding, up to 32 audio channels, dual video return, dual intercom with built-in Bluetooth audio and wireless file transfer.
"Twenty years ago, LiveU changed the industry with IP bonding. The LU900Q does it again – the first Intelligent Production Unit with AI-driven connectivity that chooses the best bonding option," said Gideon Gilboa, LiveU's Chief Business Officer.
Gilboa continued. "The industry is moving from application-centric thinking to workflow-centric thinking as our customers try to handle larger volumes of content at lower costs and higher speeds. Being story-centric and digital-first are no longer trade show slogans. These are the reality for our customers as they transform the way they produce news. With the LiveU EcoSystem, they can now create those workflows, and build their own agents to automate them."
Sony collaboration expands
IBC2026 will also mark the European showcase of LiveU's expanded collaboration with Sony Corporation, first announced in April.
The companies will demonstrate the LiveU TX1, a compact camera-mounted transmitter designed for Sony's professional camera range, enabling bonded file transfer directly from the camera. Also on display will be Sony's RXS Connection License, which enables direct file transfer from compatible Sony cameras to the PWA-RXS solution through supported LiveU field units, beginning with the LU300S.
Building an open production EcoSystem
LiveU said its modular EcoSystem now spans contribution, production, ingest, orchestration and distribution, with further expansion at IBC through the addition of Cuez as a workflow partner for cloud-based newsroom and rundown management.
The company is also continuing its involvement in industry standards development through participation in the European Broadcasting Union's MXL working group, helping advance shared-memory architecture designed to reduce processing overhead and latency by allowing multiple applications to access the same video frame simultaneously.
Digital-first production workflows
Among the digital workflow technologies on display will be LiveU Nexus, which enables conversion, normalisation and routing of IP video streams across protocols including LRT, SRT and RTMP while integrating sources such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and YouTube into broadcast workflows.
The company will also demonstrate LiveU Studio, its cloud-native production platform, which combines video switching, audio mixing and graphics while enabling simultaneous multi-format output from a single production.
LiveU said the combination provides broadcasters and digital publishers with a streamlined route from live acquisition to multi-platform distribution.
Story-centric workflow automation
Workflow automation remains another major focus for the company at this year's show.
LiveU Ingest is designed to consolidate planning, scheduling, ingest and metadata enrichment into a single story-centric workflow for both live and file-based content. By reducing manual intervention and centralising operations, the platform aims to accelerate production, editing, publishing and distribution while allowing operators to capture only the material required.
Actus X on show
Actus Digital, a LiveU company, will also exhibit the latest version of its Actus X platform.
The browser-based system combines compliance logging, low-latency multiviewing, quality assurance monitoring, clip creation and AI-powered media intelligence within a single interface. LiveU says the platform is intended to simplify broadcast monitoring while providing real-time operational visibility across multiple channels.
Visitors can see demonstrations of the complete Q Era EcoSystem and the company's latest workflow and production technologies at Stand 7.C24 during IBC2026, which takes place from 11–14 September at the RAI Amsterdam.
