Waves Audio Hosts Better U Event
Waves Audio brought together live sound engineers, systems integrators, house-of-worship technical leaders and production professionals for its Better U educational event on 16 June at Central Church in Henderson, Nevada.
Held a day before the opening of InfoComm 2026 exhibits, the event focused on hands-on training, workflow development and industry discussions centred around the Waves eMotion LV1 Classic mixing platform.
Central Church's theatre was transformed into an interactive learning environment featuring 12 fully operational Waves LV1 Classic systems, enabling attendees to gain direct experience with the platform while following demonstrations through large-format LED displays and the Waves Offline Editor.
Presented by Waves Audio, the event combined practical console training with wider discussions around the changing demands of modern live production and worship environments.
The day began with a hands-on training session led by Waves Live U.S. Sales Manager Jeremiah Clever, who guided attendees through LV1 Classic workflows, console architecture, signal flow, plugin integration and advanced mixing techniques. Participants worked directly on networked systems while exploring practical applications designed to improve efficiency, consistency and audio performance across different live production settings.
A key part of the programme included a masterclass featuring front-of-house engineers Jeff Sandstrom and Amanda Davis, who used real show files and production workflows drawn from touring and worship experiences to demonstrate how they approach live mixing using the LV1 Classic platform.
During the session, Davis demonstrated practical mixing methods while Sandstrom explained the decision-making process behind console settings, plugin choices, workflow strategies and mix optimisation approaches. The interactive format also encouraged audience participation and discussion.
"Better U was designed to bridge the gap between technical training and creative application," said Maximilian Williams, Waves Live Sound Marketing Manager. "The goal was not simply to teach users how to operate a console, but to help them understand how modern workflows, technology and creative choices work together to create meaningful audience experiences. The level of engagement and participation throughout the day exceeded expectations."
The event concluded with a panel discussion titled The Room Has Changed — Are You Keeping Up?, moderated by Maximilian Williams. Speakers included Jeff Sandstrom, Amanda Davis, Jeremiah Clever, Matt and Johnny from Worship Sound Guy, Ben Kristijanto of OHR LED and Zach Brady from d&b audiotechnik.
The discussion focused on changing audience expectations, advances in production technology, volunteer development and immersive experiences across worship, touring and live events, while panellists shared perspectives on adapting to industry developments while maintaining audience engagement.
