Netflix Tops Off Key Fort Monmouth Soundstages

Netflix marked a construction milestone at its Fort Monmouth complex in New Jersey on 23 June 2026, lifting the final structural beam into place for Stages 3 and 4 during a topping-off ceremony.

In attendance were Kenneth Falcon, Netflix Director of Enterprise Operations; Vincent Ryan, MRICS, Executive Vice President at JT Magen; and Michael Connaughton, Project Manager at JT Magen, alongside subcontractors and project partners who were thanked for their contributions. The stages form the final building in Phase 1A to be topped off.

The event highlights visible progress in converting the former Army installation into a world-class production centre. Netflix completed the purchase of the more than 292-acre site last year, spanning Route 35, Avenue of Memories and Oceanport Avenue across Eatontown and Oceanport. Sustainability has been embedded throughout construction, with roughly 80% of waste — more than 55,000 tons — diverted from landfill to date.

Once complete, the campus will feature 12 state-of-the-art soundstages totalling nearly 500,000 square feet, supported by production facilities and community amenities. Netflix plans to invest approximately $1 billion overall, with Phase 1A targeted for completion in summer 2027 and Phase 1B in autumn 2028.

While building continues at Fort Monmouth, productions are already active across the Garden State. Netflix has filmed more than 20 titles in New Jersey, including Office Romance (which dubbed New Jersey “the most beautiful place on Earth”), Big Mistakes, The RIP, A House of Dynamite, The Beast in Me and Happy Gilmore 2. Forthcoming releases include 72 Hours, The Whisper Man, Here Comes the Flood, The 99’ers and Little Brother, which debuts on Netflix June 26. The Fort Monmouth campus will deepen Netflix’s footprint in the state and provide a permanent base for crews and future talent.

The development is expected to create nearly 4,000 construction jobs and strengthen New Jersey’s long-term film and television workforce through partnerships with IATSE Local 798 and IATSE Local 600, with training programmes preparing residents for on-set crafts, crew positions and production office roles.

Netflix acknowledged support from public and community partners including Governor Mikie Sherrill and her administration, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority, Senators Gopal and O’Scanlon, Director Arnone, the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners, Oceanport Mayor Thomas J. Tvrdik and Eatontown Mayor Anthony Talerico.

The topping off of Stages 3 and 4 underscores the momentum behind Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth and the achievements of skilled teams and partners, with further construction milestones still ahead.
