Stormzy To Make Acting Debut In BBC One Drama

UK grime sensation Stormzy has landed his first TV acting role in upcoming BBC One drama 'Noughts + Crosses', based on the award-winning book series by Malorie Blackman.

The musician, a self-admitted fan of the book series, will play newspaper editor Kolawale who was created specifically for the TV series.

Malorie Blackman said: "The first time I met Stormzy he informed me he was a huge fan of my Noughts and Crosses series of books. I'm thrilled he will now be a part of the Noughts + Crosses TV production. It's so exciting!"

A gripping story of first love in a dangerous, alternate world where racism divides society Bafta Cymru winner Jack Rowan ('Peaky Blinders', 'Born to Kill') will play Callum McGregor and newcomer Masali Baduza has been cast as Sephy Hadley. Other cast members include Helen Baxendale, Paterson Joseph and Ian Hart.

Noughts + Crosses is a Mammoth Screen adaptation and is currently filming in South Africa.

International distribution is handled by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
