'Line Of Duty' Creator Brings New Original Drama To BBC One
Creator of hit TV show 'Line of Duty', Jed Mercurio, is to bring his latest original series to BBC One this weekend.
Premiering on Sunday 26 August, 'Bodyguard' tells the story of David Budd, a heroic but volatile war veteran now working as a Specialist Protection Officer for the Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch (RaSP) of London's Metropolitan Police Service. When he is assigned to protect the ambitious and powerful Home Secretary Julia Montague, Budd finds himself torn between his duty and his beliefs.
Written and created by Jed Mercurio, 'Bodyguard' stars Richard Madden from 'Game of Thrones' fame alongside co-star Keeley Hawes ('Line of Duty').
'Bodyguard' is a six-part original series produced by World Productions for BBC One
It begins on Sunday, 26 August at 9pm with part two airing the following evening at 9pm. The remaining four episodes of the series will continue every subsequent Sunday at the same time.
