Pepper complete picture post for five's Antipodean documentary

Pepper have announced the completion of the picture post on 'Inside Australia' the forthcoming five documentary presented by renowned sculptor Anthony Gormley.
The fifty minute programme was shot on location in Western Australia using Digi beta stock. The Pepper team consisted of colourist Chris Beeton, who was responsible for the tape-to-tape grade, and Simon Giblin who completed the conform and online.
Filmed on the vast Lake Ballard, near the tiny outback town of Menzies, this timeless place has become home to Gormley's most ambitious work to date, entitled 'Inside Australia'.
The installation consists of 51 sculptures and not only celebrates an extraordinary place but also a community that has taken this journey with an artist who is known for breaking the mould of tradition. The Australian Cinematographer Ian Batt briefed Pepper's Chris Beeton to create a hot, burnt out look to reflect the harsh aspects of the location's desert landscape. By bleaching out the warm colours and creating heightened cyan tones, Beeton was able to achieve the bleached out effect required so highlighting the details of the redness of the earth and rich blue skies.
Producer Jody Nunn said: "Our relationship with Pepper on the documentary Inside Australia was a long distance one. The partnerships formed in the UK to carry out on-line were very much based on recommendations from our key creative team. It was important producing from the other side of the world that the partnerships we formed were trustworthy and maintained a rapport with the team on the ground in the UK. Pepper were put forward as the preferred option and after dealing with the team, we are convinced we made the right choice. Beeton has captured the essence of the piece well and has put the finishing touches on this culturally rich and visually stunning documentary."
Simon Giblin created several effects and completed the online on Avid|DS. In addition to stabilising several steadicam shots and removing boom and camera shadows Giblin also created a location map, which was keyed over live action images of Australia and some very necessary subtitles to accompany a sequence in which an Aborigine is singing a native song.
