Triangle listens to sound advice from Tyrell

As part of a major facility expansion Triangle Post Production has bought a new Discreet Flame v8.0 and a Sonomic Total Library Server (TLS) from full-service reseller, Tyrell.
Triangle has also upgraded its existing Flame to v8.0. All systems have been supplied and will be supported by Tyrell, the only Discreet Advanced Solutions Reseller in the UK and sole UK reseller for Sonomic.
Triangle is a high-end production and post production services company, specialising in broadcast, commercials and pop promos. Recent work includes Craig David and Sting’s duet ‘Rise and Fall’, Blue and Elton John’s ‘Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word’, and TVC campaigns for Toyota and Visa. The new Flame v8.0 will be put straight into action on a large BBC project as well as an ambitious music video for Triple 8 by directing duo, Max and Dania.
The decision to buy the Sonomic TLS sound library management system marks the beginning of a major investment in new audio equipment. Tyrell has digitised and categorised Triangle’s entire sound effects library, comprising nearly 700 CDs, and committed it to a Sonomic Sound Engine server. This server is accessible via any workstation on the network and clients can access it remotely via the Internet. If they do not find what they need, extra sound effects can be downloaded from the Sonomic Online Library, which features thousands more effects, including the entire catalogues of Sound Ideas, the BBC and Zero-G. In seconds, users can find, audition and spot any sound format straight into Pro Tools and most other audio/video software.
“We looked at a lot of different solutions and the Sonomic Server was the best one”, said Tom Horton, Managing Director of Triangle. “Because Sonomic has access to so many libraries there is no sound effect that we will not have online. This and the integration with Pro Tools is what makes it so impressive.”
