4Vision Selects Harman Studer Vista 9 For ATM System's HD2 OB Truck

4Vision, a Polish systems integration firm, has installed a 52-fader HARMAN Studer Vista 9 console as part of a world-class broadcast production system for ATM System’s new HD2 OB truck.
ATM System, one of the largest production companies in Poland, has already deployed the HD2 OB truck for numerous major events throughout Europe, including the Polish football championships, Woodstock Festival Poland 2012 and, most recently at the IBC2012 Show in Amsterdam. The Vista 9 console was sold through ESS Audio, Studer’s Polish distributor.
The ATM HD2 OB truck measures 16.7 meters long and four meters wide, with two pull-out walls that create an area of over 45 square meters, allowing for up to 25 people to work comfortably. The HD2 OB truck marks the first installation of a Studer Vista 9 console in Poland.
"System integration for the truck was completed in four months," said Maria Pirga, President of 4Vision. "The first transmission was done one week after the truck was completed, for a football match."
According to Pirga, the Vista 9 was selected for the HD2 OB truck for a variety of reasons. "In our opinion, the Vista 9 is the best audio mixing console on the market," Pirga noted. "It’s reliable, high-performance and it’s what ATM wanted. They also have a Vista 8 in another of their OB trucks, so they can integrate both systems together for very large events if they need to. This capability, combined with the familiarity of working with the Vista 8, made the Vista 9 the right choice."
"The Vista 9 is a very stable system and is able to handle anything we require of it," said Mariusz Nowak, Audio Engineer for ATM System.
Nowak’s favorite feature of the Vista 9 is its History display. "It’s very useful if for some reason the audio drops out on one channel but you can’t tell which one it was," he said. "The Studer Histogram feature allows you to easily spot the channel where the audio dropped and you can react immediately, making the required adjustments. It’s the same if there is an unexpected signal overload in a particular channel. The red indications in the History display can’t be overseen and you can react right away. This is a very unique feature."
Nowak also notes the benefits of the FaderGlow™ feature. "It’s extremely convenient to be able to assign the same color faders for similar channels,” he said. “I can quickly identify what each fader is assigned to. It just makes operation much more efficient."
In addition, the Vistonics™ interface gives Nowak intuitive yet sophisticated control. "Vistonics is very useful," he noted. "With one touch I can adjust compression, EQ, effects, every function I need."
