BBC AlBA Returns To Belladrum Festival For 2012

Watch live and exclusive coverage of the sold out Tartan Heart Festival on BBC ALBA along with your hosts, Fiona MacKenzie, Niall Iain MacDonald and Sarah Cruickshank
Travis and The Wombats will join a host of home-grown and international acts on BBC ALBA as the channel provides exclusive coverage of one of Scotland’s biggest music festivals, Belladrum Tartan Heart.
BBC ALBA will screen two special live two-hour shows - Belladrum 2012: Cridhe Tartan - from the festival on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th August, complemented by a look back on the best of the weekend action; shown on the evening of Sunday 5th August.
We’ll also be out and about looking at all things festival around the Belladrum site; bringing you highlights and live coverage from the Garden Stage, and inviting performers from The Hothouse Stage, The Grassroots Stage and The Seedlings Stage to swing by the Belladrum Barn and Campervan to give us their chat and acoustic sets.
All this, topped with back stage interviews and banter AND Belladrum’s main stage ‘Mystery Special Guest’ will be dropping by the Belladrum Barn live on Friday night with Iain McLaughlin and the Outsiders and Donald MacDonald and The Islands playing live in the Barn on Saturday night.
Tune in for coverage of: The Wombats, Travis, Frightened Rabbit, Beverley Knight, The Buzzcocks, We are Scientists, The Blackout, Willie Mason, Treacherous Orchestra, Nina Nesbitt, Finding Albert and Brown Bear and the Bandits to name but a few.
Belladrum Estate by Beauly, Inverness-shire, is one of Scotland’s top beauty spots and home to the friendliest and most eclectic boutique music fest in the country. Belladrum Festival now in its ninth year is firmly established as a family favourite.
BBC Gàidhlig’s Music and Events team is geared up for providing more great live festival coverage in 2012. Show Producer, Donna L. Murchison, says “Belladrum Festival is a great gig to cover. And we’re delighted to be back at Belladrum this year, live on BBC ALBA. There’s a guaranteed blistering line-up for every musical taste, the acts love the feel good atmosphere of the place and play their tartan hearts out to fantastic crowds. Producing a heartland highland festival like Belladrum in Gaelic, live on BBC ALBA is ‘dìreach sgoinneil.’ (just brilliant.)”
