PlayBox Technology Delivers HD To The Biggest Cable Network In The Balkans

PlayBox Technology has delivered, installed and commissioned 27 servers including 14 HD Channel-in-a-Box servers to Iko Media, the service provider for SBB (Serbia BroadBand). This leading operator of internet and cable television is now able to broadcast seven Full HD sports channels to seven countries. The channels include Sport Klub, Sport Klub+, Sport Klub Prime, Sport Klub Premium, Sport Klub Croatia, Sport Klub Slovenia and Golf Klub, all broadcast via the Serbian DTH platform.
PlayBox Technology and Iko Media have built a strong relationship based on the great partnership and professionalism that has been built over the last six years. “SBB first started using PlayBox Technology solutions back in 2006, and for all the time since then we have always been happy with the quality of the products and the prompt support”, says Igor Jovic, Technical Director. PlayBox Technology supplied 14 HD main and backup automated playout servers with interactive CG and graphics, 2 servers for MAM, archive and the SQL database, 4 servers for barker channels, 7 dual-channel ingest servers and 32TB NAS storage. PlayBox MAM for 10 clients completes the project. All equipment is supplied for HD SDI workflow complete with full redundancy. The playout channels are connected to HD SDI vision mixers and ingest for all 14 channels is delivered to the dual-channel servers via a router. The LAN network is built on three levels, broadcasting, management and backup, all connected through 10GB LAN for maximum stability.
