Chroma Film & TV Invests In SGO's Mistika For Stereoscopic 3D Projects

In order to provide its clients with an advanced and highly efficient 2D and stereoscopic 3D work-flow, Hamburg-based Chroma Film & TV, one of Germany's stereoscopic 3D pioneers, has invested in a Mistika 2K system for both 2D and 3D Stereo post production.
Defined as one of the most powerful 2D and 3D post production tools in the industry for commercials, feature films and broadcast, Mistika will play an integral role in supporting Chroma Film & TV's existing current project work-flow and in attracting new clientele to the company.
Chroma Film & TV's new Mistika will not just be perceived as an advanced stereo 3D tool, but also as a complete post production system, which is made up of highly developed 2D tools which include editing, conforming, image restoration, compositing, colour grading, multi mastering and DCP for both 3D and 2D. Mistika will form the central core of the work-flow process during each post project, further demonstrating how having a Mistika, enhances a quality driven business and provides quality service, based on its unrivalled speed and superior functionality.
Mistika will be used for all of Chroma Film & TV's work which includes 2D and stereo 3D commercials, corporate films, documentaries and feature films. Jürgen Schaum, CEO of Chroma Film & TV, stated: "Mistika will provide the key departments of commercials and feature films - directors, cinematographers, editors and VFX - with a very fast, high-quality and economically attractive resource for S3D and 2D productions."
Mistika's openness, flexibility and ability to integrate seamlessly with other systems, were some of the key factors that made Mistika the system of choice for stereoscopic 3D productivity at Chroma Film & TV. Mistika will enable Chroma Film & TV to meet the growing and complex demands that stereo 3D productions involve. Mistika has the capacity to compatibility work alongside with their other systems, such as Avid and the Nucoda Film Master serving a distinct advantage from other closed systems.
Due to Mistika's powerful real-time functionality and capability to process any film and video format natively, as well as its full support of Avid work-flows, it will be possible for Chroma Film & TV to use Mistika for their dallies, for sending MXF files to their Avid for 2D and stereo 3D projects including the later conform in Mistika using Avid's EDL for 2D and stereo 3D in 48 fps. Along with Mistika's open storage, the addition of DNxHD continues to make Mistika the ideal system for all on-line and DI post-production work-flows and now provides direct media interchange with Avid's range of offline editing systems. Mistika and Chroma Film & TV's Nucoda will operate simultaneously on stereo 3D productions, resulting in the combination of both systems working together for the same project, thus serving the best interests of the client.
The Mistika post production system is a flexible high-end post production and live on set system capable of SD, HD, 2K, 4K and stereoscopic 3D with real-time ARRI, RED camera and other native data work-flows. It seamlessly integrates time-line-based editing, conforming, infinite-layer compositing, colour grading and image restoration all in one complete system with various tool-sets working together in the time-line. Mistika is the most powerful high-end state of the art industry-leading system for 3D Stereo work and is being used by companies such as New Zealand's Park Road Post Production, The Framestore London, BSkyB (British Sky Broadcasting), Molinare Madrid amongst many other high profile post production companies worldwide.
