Barco Awarded With Frost & Sullivan's 2009 Award For Excellence In Growth

A leader in visualisation and display solutions, Barco, has announced that Frost & Sullivan has recognised the company for its leadership in growth excellence by presenting it with the prestigious 2009 Company of the Year Award for Growth Excellence in relation to the company's growth in Greater China.
The award was presented in conjunction with Frost & Sullivan GIL 209: China, and was received by Frank Christiaens, President of Barco for Greater China at Frost & Sullivan's 2009 Growth Excellence Awards Banquet, which was held on October 28 at Shanghai's St. Regis Hotel.
Frank Christiaens said: "It is an honour to accept the 2009 Company of the Year Award for Excellence in Growth. Since 2002, Barco has enjoyed significant growth in Greater China. We have invested in China in terms of people, marketing, R&D, customer service and manufacturing. The result has been a much stronger brand, happier customers, and an ever larger loyal customer base."
Since opening its first office in China in 1995, Barco has made great strides in growing its Mainland business. The company's most notable achievements of recent years include its products being deployed at the Shanghai F1 face track in 2004, the 2005 Hong Kong International Film Festival and five consecutive cctv Spring Festival Shows.
Moreover, Barco had more than 50% of LED displays at the many car shows, did more than 1,000 digital cinema installations with 80% market share, and played a starring role in the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the recent 2009 China National Games.
Commenting on Barco's development in Greater China, Christiaens said: "Our experience in China has been nothing short of outstanding. From growing in our existing industry market sectors, to exploring "white space" opportunities, to giving back to China, we are moving fast-forward in the right direction in this market with major growth potential for Barco."
