Six Arrested In Anti-Terror Raids Across London

Five men and a woman have been arrested in London on suspicion of terrorism offences as part of an intelligence-led operation involving MI5.

The six, aged between 18 and 30, were arrested during a series of raids. As a result eight homes in west, east and north London and one business are being searched.

In an operation described by police as “significant”, it is understood the arrests relate to a possible plot involving Islamist extremists, with potential UK targets.

With the terror threat level unchanged from "substantial", which means a terrorist attack is a "strong possibility", it is understood there was no suggestion at the moment of any imminent attack.

It is also understood that some, if not all, of those arrested are British Nationals.

Police have said the arrests are not linked to the Olympics or Paralympics.
