Mint Copies Launches New Website

The launch of Mint Copies new website - www.mintcopies.com - in July allows their customers instant access to their services. With a full description of all the services they offer, along with a simplified ratecard, it’s much more user friendly.
Fast turnaround is what Mint Copies are all about, recently providing 20,000 DVD copies within 3 days for Knauf Insulation’s new promotional DVD. James Heaton, Knauf’s senior graphic designer commented: "Mint copies really helped us out of a tight spot recently, we needed 20,000 DVD’s and the deadline was very short.  Mint pulled out all the stops and came through with a fast response and provided the quantity we needed and delivered it to site in time for our mailing."
Blu-Ray duplication is gradually becoming the preferred delivery format for in-store promotional video. With in-house Blu-Ray authoring and duplication, Mint Copies can produce short run copies from Final Cut HD pro-res files within 24 hours.
Mint Design, sister company to Mint Copies, have been developing CD authoring that provides a similar interface to a DVD. A recent production for British Orienteering required a simple but attractive interface to access maps and guides which would mimic the accompanying DVD. This was achieved using existing artwork very quickly at minimal cost.
Piracy and copyright theft are constantly in the news. After spending thousands of pounds on your production, and relying on DVD sales to recoup your costs and hopefully return a little profit, you suddenly find your video on sale on an auction site at half your normal price or even worse, it’s freely available on a file sharing site.
Mint Copies are now able to help protect your copyright with a protection system from Fortium Technologies which defeats all the usual ripping/cloning software. 'Patronus' creates an invisible protection system as far as playback is concerned, however the disc becomes effectively invisible to copying software, making illegal duplicates impossible.
They recently provided these services for a customer who was experiencing massive amounts of DVD piracy, particularly on titles mastered with CSS copy protection.
The addition of ‘Patronus’ has seen complete eradication of cloned discs and increased sales of the original product, more than paying for the slightly increase in unit cost.
Martin Tetlow, MD of Mint Copies, is enthusiastic about this system.
He said: "We’ve been looking at ways to protect duplicated DVD’s for quite some time, and this system is very impressive. It has no effect on playback, but every version of cloning software was defeated. In the past we have relied on CSS copy protection for replicated/glass mastered discs, but this new system adds a whole new barrier of defence.
"If you’re in the market of producing DVD’s for training or Sell-through, it’s useful to know that copies can only be provided by you, increasing sales and profitability."
