ACT invest in Quantel iQ

German Postproduction house ACT Videoproduktions GmbH have purchased a Quantel iQ media platform to service their existing broadcast client base and to provide a platform to move into the HD and 2k market in the future.
ACT are already very familiar with Quantel systems, and currently have a Paintbox, Editbox and Henry Infinity.
General Manager Robert Gross said: “What we have always respected about Quantel is the reliability and stability of their systems. This is vital when you are servicing a demanding broadcast marketplace. Quantel products may not be the cheapest you can buy, but their quality, power and speed have made them an outstanding investment for us over the years. iQ carries this reputation forward with it, and we expect to recoup our investment in it in a very short time.
“The clincher for us is iQ’s resolution co-existence, which opens up new opportunities for us in emerging mixed format work, including 24P HD mastering, restoration and DVD pre-production.”
