OmniTek To Monitor Slovakian HD TV Content

Leading test and measurement manufacturer, OmniTek, has announced that the Slovakian internet HD TV, Mediaplanet Studio, has purchased the OTR 1003 3Gb/s waveform monitor, signal analyser and generator, first launched at IBC last year.
The OTR 1003, which was sold through OmniTek's distributor Centron, will be used in conjunction with a Nevion HD/SD SDI router and 4-user Adder KVM switches by Studio Camera Control in CR, NLE and Graphic creation quality control, TV output quality control before IPTV encoding at Mediaplanet's base in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Richard Varkonda, consultant at Centrons, OmniTek distributor and system integrator, for Mediaplanet, said: "The OTR 1003 is being installed as part of an upgrade to the A/V design of the TV Studio Mediaplanet and will be used to monitor HD TV content including, talk shows, politics discussions, documentaries, commercials.
"We have had a good experience with functionality and easy integration, ugradeability of the OTR 1003."
The OTR 1003 is an SDI rasterizer in a 3U rackmount chassis. It has similar functionality to the OmniTek OTM 1000, which is a traditional half-rack scope. However, the OTR 1003 provides additional capabilities such as dual DVI display outputs to support real-time native 1080p60 picture monitoring simultaneously with high-resolution waveform, vectorscope, colour gamut, and audio displays.
The system also has an option to support multi-disk RAID storage for long-form capture and playout of video material in all SD, HD, dual-link and 3Gb/s formats.
