Geevs And Lightworks At IBC 2009

Gee Broadcast and Lightworks will exhibit together at IBC 2009 on Stand 7.A39.
Gee Broadcast Systems will be showing the latest Geevs HD and SD servers where the Geevs Slim HD will have its debut. Geevs Slim HD is a compact 1RU server with one in and one out in SD or HD, and supports the full range of Geevs Software options for control and management.
Mixed file format handling in Geevs Version 4.5 will also be featured at IBC. This simplifies operation in complex multi-format operations, reducing the need for file conversions. With support for recording and playback of MXF, Quicktime and AVI with DV, DVCPro, MPEG2, IMX and XDCam codecs, Geevs simplifies workflow. Seamless Playback, without conversion of files, allows fast and simple movement of files between different systems.
Lightworks will be showing the latest editing software version 1.3 and the new Alacrity II platform with support for HD AVC Intra editing. Lightworks 1.3 supports Native file handling for MXF, Quicktime, AVI, DPX and RED files. Panasonic P2, Apple Prores and Sony XDCAM are also supported. All these formats and mixed HD or SD material can be used directly within a single project for output in SD or HD. The ability to import so many formats and use them natively without conversion provides simplified and fast workflow in today's mixed environment.
Sports applications for Geevs and Lightworks will be highlighted at IBC showing the power to provide Slow Motion and fast Highlight Clip editing and assembly.
Clips being recorded on Geevs can be edited in place, and while recording, from Lightworks, Avid or Final Cut.
Geevs also provides efficient ingest of material for editing either from tape-based material or for live studio capture for production of Soaps. With support for up to 4 ingest channels in a single chassis and facilities to combine Geevs for larger systems, multi-channel ingest provides a fast and cost effective solution.
Keith Gee, owner of Gee Broadcast, said: "We are looking forward to IBC where we can meet many of our customers and partners in just a few days. Exhibiting at the show allows us to share the exciting results of the hard work done by our development team and explain the benefits provided by our latest offerings of Geevs Servers and Lightworks Editing."
