JMR Demonstrates New RED-Compatible Video Storage Solutions

A top value provider of scalable storage systems for video and data intensive applications, JMR Electronics, has showcased their new BlueStor storage systems at REDucation Community Day.
The event was at the Los Angeles Center Studios.
The new BlueStor 8-bay compact Workgroup NAS Server and 4U rackmount 16-bay RAID system are ideal for recording and streaming digital footage captured on a RED ONE camera or on complex post-production workflows. The two storage systems, suitable for individual cinematographers or post production workgroups, were on display at the JMR booth.
The powerful JMR 8-bay Workgroup NAS Server features the latest generation SuperMicro motherboard running Adobe Premier Pro CS4, Windows Server 2003 and Tiger Technologies' METALAN Software. RAID functionality for the 8 tb storage capacity is provided via an integral ATTO RAID card and the server is equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports for high multi-user performance - all in a compact desktop package for under $7,000 (excluding Adobe software).
JMR's 4U rackmount BlueStor 16-bay RAID system will also be featured and will be demonstrated as an ingest server running Assimilate SCRATCH software, featuring a 19-in-1 card reader, Blu-ray writer, an nVIDIA Quadro 5600 SDI graphics card, USB and an E-SATA storage port. The 16-bay unit can scale up to 32 TB using the latest generation 2 TB disk drives.
JMR's affordable and fault-tolerant storage solutions are based on JMR's PeSAN (PCIe Storage Attached Network) technology. JMR's 16-bay BlueStor PeSAN RAID systems were developed to be the ultimate in high-performance Direct Attached Storage or Networked Attached Storage for a wide range of video applications like content creation, VOD, video editing 2K/4K Digital Intermediate (DI) film applications requiring extremely high sustained throughput and reliability - making it ideal for encoding, multi-stream SD/HD real-time editing and 2K DI applications.
