DK-Audio appeal to broadcast market at IBC

Danish metering specialist DK-Audio is attending the IBC exhibition in Amsterdam with a range of new products designed to appeal to broadcast professionals.
Following its recent acquisition of video metering manufacturer, PTV, the company is launching the PTV PT5202, a Compact VariTime Sync Generator that includes all the features necessary for professional sync, timing and test signals in one half-sized box. Unlike its predecessor, the PT 5201, the PT5202 incorporates front panel controls that enable users to operate the Sync Generator without recourse to software within a PC. Its small size makes it ideal for OB vehicles and for studios that require an accurate and yet cost-effective sync generation tool.
The unit’s features include VariTime sub-nanosecond resolution, 8 PAL or 4 NTSC fields and TSG/Black Burst analogue.
The PT5202 also incorporates DK-Audio’s new Moving Text Signal Generator, a sophisticated addition to the DK-Audio/PTV range that enables broadcasters in OB and SMG vehicles to check the status of transmission signals by incorporating moving text. In normal circumstances test patterns transmitted between programmes are static, thus making it impossible to tell whether a signal has frozen. After requests from customers, DK-Audio has developed a signal generator that features a moving text pointer - a solution that enables broadcasters to tell at a moment’s notice whether a signal is live.
The PT5202 will be the first PTV product to feature a dark grey front panel. This livery change is designed to bring PTV’s product range in line with DK-Audio, which has always adopted dark grey as its brand colour.
