Soho Film Lab And Rushes Team Up For Exciting New 16mm Initiative

It has emerged that sweet16 is offering a new range of packaged services, consisting of stock, lab processing and grading aimed at stimulating the use of 16mm film for commercials, virals and music promos.
Available through Kodak re-sellers Arri Media and Take 2 in conjunction with their camera equipment rental, sweet16 represents fantastic value at £1,600.
This unique package is tailored two ways to suit the differing workflows for commercials and music videos.
The sweet16 commercials package comes with 2,000ft of stock, processing and one light SD transfers, plus three hours of telecine, whilst the sweet16 promos package has 3200ft of stock, processing and five hours of telecine.
Both include SD or HD machine time but exclude tape stock.
Alex Panton, Telecine Producer at Rushes, said: "We hope that this concerted effort from some of the biggest facilities in UK film will boost the hard-pressed production sector."
Jon Gray, Operations and Facilities Manager at Soho Film Lab, added: "We are proud to be part of this initiative. Nothing matches the exposure latitude of the human eye, which can see details in shadows and highlights at the same time but film comes much closer to that ability than HD or data. s16mm is a reliable and much loved capture format and these two distinct and uncomplicated inclusive packages will provide our new and existing clients with an easy, realistic alternative, both financially and aesthetically.
Karen L'Aiguille, TV and Commercials Manager at Kodak, agreed: "Nothing comes close to the depth, colour, texture, sharpness and resolution of film. That's why we're delighted to be partnering with Soho Film Lab and Rushes to offering the opportunity for more productions to shoot on 16mm.
"At Kodak, we remain committed to on-going advances in film and hybrid post production technologies. With film, there is no compromise - no compromise on image quality, production values and efficiencies, the post production workflow and the ability to repurpose content for the future."
