Soho Film Lab Appoints Steve Boag To Run New Digital Lab Service

Ascent Media has announced the appointment of Steve Boag, who joins the Soho Film Lab team to head up its new digital lab service offering for filmmakers.
The former Cine Image owner and managing director has joined Ascent Media where he will head up a new department providing digital lab services.
Boag will concentrate on three main areas: titling, subtitling and features re-versioning; digital dailies for digital acquisition; and web publishing services that allow rushes to be viewed online.
The department will be based within the central London facility and offer complimentary services to Ascent's Soho Film Lab (SFL).
Adrian Bull, Ascent Media Chief Technology Officer, said: "The digital lab is another sign of our commitment to supporting filmmakers who are taking advantage of new digital techniques and workflows. We see titling and subtitling as a good fit with what SFL do. I see Steve's appointment as the final element in getting the new department up and running."
Building work at the labs is just being completed and the lab service will be operational later this month.
Boag had a brief spell at JCA Grade and Restore earlier this year after it bought his company Cine Image Opticals Ltd. He will report into Neil Mockler who has been appointed as the new Soho Film Labs director of film services.
