Northern Screen Agencies Team Up To Expose Film And TV Talent Base

Regional Screen Agencies from across the North of England have come together to launch an online database showcasing crew, facilities, creative and digital talent from across the North.
Screen Yorkshire, Northern Film & Media and Northwest Vision and Media are the three agencies working in partnership to launch the online database, which is aimed at maximising job opportunities for freelancers working in the production and creative sectors and providing a one-stop shop for film and TV companies shooting in the North.
The Northern Exposure database (www.northern-exposure.info) which goes live on June 2, holds details of over 3,000 freelance crew, facilities and production companies based right across the North of England: from Sunderland to Sheffield; from Blackpool to Bridlington.
It is hoped that Northern Exposure will highlight the scope of freelance crew and other resources available in the North of England: from Sunderland to Sheffield; from Blackpool to Bridlington. It is hoped that Northern Exposure will highlight the scope of freelance crew and other resources available in the North to feature film, TV and other projects both nationally and internationally, as well as providing increased employment support to the North's dynamic and mobile freelance workforce.
Northern Exposure will feature thousands of highly skilled freelancers working in the production and creative sectors, including crew from across all grades, many of whom have gained recent experience working on big name TV and feature film productions such as The Damned United, Red Riding and Unforgiven, which all shot in Yorkshire; Shameless, Waterloo Road and Britannia High all filmed in the North west; and Wire in the Blood and 55 Degrees North, both of which were shot in the North East.
Sally Joynson, Screen Yorkshire Chief Executive, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the three northern regions to work in partnership to showcase the amazing wealth of talent that's located here. Our hope is that Northern Exposure will strengthen the entire North's position as home to some of the most talented individuals and accessible production facilities in the UK."
Kaye Elliott, Director of Production and Locations at Northwest Vision and Media, said: "We're delighted that the three northern screen agencies are working together to promote the fantastic talent that we all have. I'm sure this database will be invaluable in helping to profile our regions both nationally and internationally."
Tom Harvey, Chief Executive of Northern Film & Media, said: "The Northern Exposure website provides a fantastic tool with which we can link the talent of the North to production companies from the national and international market. Northern Film & Media is delighted to be working in partnership with our fellow northern screen agencies on the Northern Exposure website. It is a great example of what we can achieve in the North when we pool our collective resource and talent."
